The only thing "wrong" with the entry below is that he would likely to have been born in Middleton not nearby Mickleton.

Dear Michael,
Many thanks for your reply. I also have no direct relationship to the family. I was undertaking research for a friend who is descended from Martha's sister. It is only recently, last week, I found she had married twice, as there was no knowledge of it within the family.
Martha had two children from her first marriage and it is from this daughter, Mary Ann Denton Collingwood, born 1875, that my friend is connected. She was partly brought up by my friends family in Ravenstonedale, Cumbria (previously Westmorland). She was there in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 census. She was the neice of the wife of the family, who was Mary Ann Raine. She married a Hobson and is buried in the local churchyard although she did not live in the village after her marriage. She had a son and a daughter. The son died last year and it is his daughter who was asking for information.
William Cuthbert Collingwood died 23rd April 1878 aged 26.
Isaac Denton Collingwood, about whom very little was known by the family had the following children (going by their names)
Richard Denton b 2nd quarter 1905 in Kendal
Cuthbert Denton b 4th quarter 1907 in Kendal
Cedric D b 4th quarter 1911 in Kendal (mother's maiden name quoted as Turner). Nothing else is known.
I will pass on your web-site address to Caroline.
Many thanks for your reply and information, it will be much appreciated by Caroline.
Cheers,
Val

This listing is produced from an index that was originally prepared by Bill Rounce and entered onto computer by George Bell with the assistance of Sandra (Hope) Bell. This index is one of a number kindly made available to GENUKI by George Bell from his large collection of Northumberland and Durham indexes. Before 1752 (in Britain) the year began on March 25th (Lady Day). Dates between January 1st and March 24th were therefore at the end of the year rather than the beginning. To avoid confusion, dates in this range are marked with an asterisk e.g. 12 Feb 1696*. Such dates are sometimes seen in the form 12 Feb 1696/7.

Elleff
I wonder if someone has confused Weardale, St John (St John's Chapel)
in Stanhope Parish with Newcastle, St John? Both are often referred
to simply as "St John's" without any placename, and wrong assumptions
could readily be made by a transcriber or researcher.
Are you working from transcripts or original records - I would suggest ignoring anything which is not a facsimile copy of an original church register entry.
Cheers, Brian
