Individual Note: Originally found as the father of Margaret Allinson with a Mary as the mother, a check of LDS Individual Records for likely parish register entries reveals only one other child (unless they moved), Mary Allinson. Unfortunately, I've found no likely birth or marriage record to date unless he was born in Pately Bridge - not impossible, it was also a lead mining centre, but I've found no other record of such movement - only to/from the closer Arkengarthdale.

Thomas-1 Millican begins the link with lead mining, specifically working for the London Lead Mining Company and moving to work in their various mines in different towns placed not too far apart. Garrigill in Cumbria borders both Durham and Westmorland counties. Northumberland was 10 miles North. Moving to an adjacent town at times meant moving to a new county as is seen with the records of the marriage & children of Thomas Millican-1.
Marriage – 15 Mar 1745 - to Alice (Elsie) Allinson (Ellinson)
Their marriage is recorded in both the central Alston Records and at the distant Romaldkirk town with variation in the spelling of the bride. Ronaldkirk was the site of one of the mines of the London Lead Co. in Teesdale. r
Thomas-1 Millican b.8.3.1724 at Garrigill Gatehead – d. 1782 Alston – 58 years

Sarah might be SARAH BARRETT, Marriage: 06 MAR 1800 Chalfont Saint Giles, Buckingham ... but that is only a possibility.

Possible marriage matches.
Daughter Ann Maria Seares was born 1806, Shoreditch of Thomas Seares and Sarah. Coincidently the only remotely similarly dated marriage of a Thomas Sears / Seers / Sear / Seares ... has exactly the same surname spelling, in Buckinghamshire. However, the almost certain birth of a son in or before Sept 1800 in Buckinghamshire does not jive with a series of Shoreditch births/christenings 1798 - 1808
Note: "Sear" seems to be Buckinghamshire name in the 1851 Census.

This may possibly be two John Raine? The 1871 and 1881 census data shows an unmarried John Raine son of Isaac Raine. The 1891 shows a John Raine, husband of Hannah. They have children before their marriage, so probably a second marriage for John, however that would suggest that the 1881 Census should show him as widowed when it says Unmarried.

Hello Michael, I don't usually reply to the hot matches, but was having a browse, and wondered if you knew the father of the above, who was married to Martha Raine of Holwick? Martha's brother John Raine married Hannah Coatsworth, sister of my ancestor Elizabeth Ann Coatsworth, of Middleton In Teesdale. Thanks, Sue Clarke
