There is a John Tweedie in my tree - son of Lilias and George Tweedie of Redhall Farm, Lochmaben. He married my Aunt Jessie in 1902 at Kirkmichael Manse. They had two daughters born before the marriage - Mary and Margaret - and a son - Andrew - born in 1903. Any link - cheers, Sheila

In Scotland there is a lead to be checked out:
In the 1881 census of scotland there is an edward flinn listed as a 40 year old boarder (occupation carter) living at 11 Duke Street, Glasgow. There is also a 9 year old boy visiting the address called Michael (presumeably his son) If you knew his wifes name or something I would look it up for you to see if they are scottish. I only say this as I have already paid for access to most of the Flinns on the Scotlandspeople.gov.uk site while looking for my mothers Flinns. If I can be of any help, let me know.
