Hello Michael

Hope you are well and not too cold in Stockholm.

I have been doing more research into my mother's childhood. Just after she was born her parents went to live in Ceylon (Sri Lanka). They came back in 1914 at the outbreak of WW1 and whilst Ernest was in the Army in Chatham my mother lived with her great aunt Emma at 193 Ferry Road, Edinburgh. I believe this was Emma Ellen Tweedie. She sold hats and lived "above" the "showroom". I have no proof that this is E. E. Tweedie, but my mother refers to her as having lived at Stockmoss Smithy. I thought you might be interested in this as I see you thought she had died early in the twentieth century. I have no idea who lived with Great Aunt Emma. My mother always referred to this time as "living with aunts in Edinburgh". The Baxters went back to Ceylon in 1919 and stayed there until 1927 though my mother came home to boarding school when she was eleven. I have added some photos to my tree, but none that I am sure of the identity of. One of the women could be your great grandmother. I have put this with Grace McDonald as I think the photo was taken for her funeral.

Hope you find this interesting.
Best wishes
Third cousin Hilary
