Individual Note: Original Source- Joe Collinson:
Joe states that "he was born Mark Tarn but his name was changed to Collinson when Margaret, his mother, married Joseph Collinson.
He emigrated with his family to the US. Was working as a wagon maker. In 1876 he was employed in a buggy factory in Quincy, Il.
Mark married Emma R. Cox on 24th Mar 1875 in Quincy, Il. The marriage ended in divorce. Emma was born about 1847. She died n 16 Jun 1918 in Quincy, Il (cf. Il. State website). The data on this marriage is only probable. The date is good, the location is good, and there are not many Mark Collinson's in Quincy, Il."

Hi Michael
I live in Australia & was wondering if your Joseph Nixon is the same one in my family tree. I am only a beginner at family research but have ascertained that Joseph is my great great grandfather. He married Elizabeth Harrison. His son George born 1855 (my great grandfather)migrated to Australia in 1878. Another son Joseph born 1837came out to Australia as well.
Looking forward to your repy.
Kind regards
Bev Santacaterina (nee Nixon)
