"Christened on 16 Oct 1797 in Middleton In Teesdale. ... buroed on 29 Jul 1849. Lived in Stanley and Frosterley. Worked as a butcher and as a lead miner.
Married Mary Jane Harrop 21 Feb 1824 at Woodside. She was a widow at the time of her marriage to Joseph Collinson, I don't know whether this is her married or her maiden name. In 1851 after Joseph's dearh, she was a grocer and was living at Hill End with her children, John and Elizabeth."
