Yes his father was Joseph Collinson Thwaites,and his grandmother was Elizabeth Bird,nee Collinson.Still waiting on certificates as proof.
Do you know if Elizabeth had any children to her first husband Harrison Bird?
Guy came over to New Zealand about 1915 and died in 1958.He is buried in Karori Cemetery, Wellington, New Zealand.He had a daughter Beatrice Thwaites.

(S). In m. Mary the beloved wife of John Gregson of Warcop who d. April 23, 1863 aged 71 y. Also of the abovenamed John Gregson who d. January 23rd 1874 aged 86 y., and of John their Son who d. March 12th 1873 aged 57 y. Also of Alice the beloved wife of William Collinson and da. to the above who d. September 20th 1880 aged 49 y.

Individual Note: Mary Elizabeth Collinson was born in Warcop, Westmorland to William Collinson and Alice Gregson. She grew up on her father's farm in Langrigg, Great Musgrave, Westmorland.
She appears to have married Joseph Remington Longstaff in 1890 and bore three children before he died in 1898. There is one discrepancy though. Joseph is shown as married in the 1891 Census, but without his wife as a servant in someone's house. Mary though is shown under her maiden name name living with her parents in Great Musgrave.
