Individual Note: Charlotte Collinson was born 28 SEP 1817 and christened 07 NOV 1817 while her father Rev. John Collinson was Rector of Gateshead. Another Charlotte Collinson is born about 18 months later so she probably died in infancy, this was a common practise at the time.

Possible marriage? There is a big gap between his birth and the likely birth of John, probably 1880-84-ish from the age of his later widow. This is the only marriage of a Richard Collinson in Westmoreland and Cumberland found.

St Theobolds, Gt Musgrave.
On a plaque inside the church:

In greatfullcommemoration of their parential affection and care, and in testimony of the respect due to integrity, industry and piety in humble life."

Kingstone, Somerset
...
The parish church of Kingstone is dedicated to St John the Evangelist and All Saints. For this small parish it is a substantial building of impressive appearance, standing on a slightly elevated position. Its centrally placed fine C15 tower is an unusual feature in being without transepts. The church is first referred to in 1291, but the oldest parts of the chancel are of C14 date. More recently built is the nave, of local Ham stone like the rest of the church, and with large Perpendicular windows.
The benefice has undergone various changes in the past, and in 1971 it comprised the parishes of Kingstone, Dowlish Wake and Chillington. Today there are no fewer than eight local churches in the one benefice. One past curate of the parish achieved considerable distinction: he was Septimus COLLINSON (1777-78), who, after his brief ministry there, became rector of Dowlish Wake and later professor of Divinity in Oxford and Provost of the Queen's College there.

Is only a small district, lying on the east side of the Eden, bounded by the parishes of Brough, Warcop, Crosby-Garret, and Kirkby-Stephen, and containing about 170 inhabitants. The village occupies a pleasant situation on an eminence, commanding a fine view of the picturesque vale, and distant two miles S.W. of Brough. The adjacent hamlets of Fleetholm, and Langrigg(1) are about one mile north of the village.

The Rev. Septimus Collinson, D.D., Provost of Queen College, Oxford, and Prebendary of Worcester, gave a valuable service of communion plate to this church, in 1809; and by will in 1827, left £1500 in 3 per cent. consols, for the endowment of a free school in this, his native parish, to be conducted on the Madras system(2). His nephews and executors, the Rev. John Collinson, then of Lamesly, and Gateshead, in the county of Durham, paid the legacy duty themselves, and also contributed £300 towards the erection of the school and master's house, which were built in 1829, at Langrigg(1), where the learned doctor resided during his youth, till he was removed to the grammar school, at Appleby.

MORTLAKE PARISH RECORDS II
MORTLAKE CHARITIES
Dame Margaret Thorold's Gift, 1717-1813.
FILE - Copy of Information of Sir Vicary Gibbs, Attorney General, at the relation of William Pembroke, as trustee of Dame Margaret Thorold's gift - ref. 2414/9/330 - date: [1810]
Scope and Content
The Churchwardens, William Gilpin and Charles Paine have given directions for the removal of the monument, which will result in the forfeiture of the gift, without authority, the consenting vestry meeting having been attended by very few inhabitants, and the Vestry having in any case no power in the matter.
The purpose of the removal was to enlarge the church, in which the minister, Septimus Collinson, and the resident curate, James Gibson, concurred. The defendants ought to be restrained by a court injunction.
