Note for:   Ralph John Hutchinson Allison,   ABT 1854 - AFT MAR 1901         Index

Individual Note:
There is no explicit proof whatever that this Ralph Allison is related to this Allison branch but the 1881 Census lists him as being born in Hart so there is a probability that he is the brother of Reuben Allison born 1848 Hart.

Source - Rosemary Cummings / Reuben Allison, May 2007:

Rosemary remembers Uncle Reuben telling her he had a younger who "died young ... aged 70".

Possibly this Ralph?

Source - FreeBMD:

Elwick/Hart reported in the Stockton district until 1859, so Ralph John Hutchinson is probably a match. His mother would be Mary Hutchinson.

Hi Michael

Thanks for the information - unfortunately I have nothing further with regard to Reuben. I know my grandfather John Frederick Garner was married to Mary Emily but only after his first wife (Mary Emily's sister Ann) died. My mum did not have any knowledge of Reuben but would try to speak to her sister - maybe she might know something.

Regards
Valerie

Individual Note:
Could this man be the father of Reuben Allison, b c1848 Elwick or Hart? He has a son Ralph born in the same place as Reuben.

From LDS data added by a "member" (therefore of much lower reliability than their parish record data), he also appears to have had sisters Elizabeth and Ann. Ann, however, matches perfectly a sister who is widowed in the 1871 Census.

Note also tha the 1851 Census hints that his father is not Robert Allison born c1790 but William Allison born c1781. They could of course be an uncle/nephew relation but then why is Robert a blacksmith for 20 years and then suddenly a retired farmer (1871)?

Hi Michael,Charlotte Ann Hodgson was my Gr.Gr Grandfathers sister. His name was John Henry married to Jane. His son William was the father of my Grandmother Ethel May Hodgson who married William Carter Henderson who were my mothers parents.

Individual Notes

Note for:   Ralph Donkin Allison,   ABT 1853 - AFT MAR 1901         Index

Individual Note:
The 1881 Census lists him as being born in Hart so there was a very high probability that he is the brother of "my" Reuben Allison born 1848 Hart. In other Census he lists his birth place as Elwick, as does Reuben. However, Reuben's father now appears to be Reuben/Richard Allison and Ralph Donkin's father William Allison. Confusingly, "my" Reuben DOES seem to have a brother Ralph born in about the same year.
