Hi Michael,
Thanx so much for your reply. I have opened up my tree for you. I certainly do not have the info gathered that you have. If this is your George well he married my Great Grandmother. I have actually just sent off for a copy of their marriage certificate so maybe I will then be able to confirm if it is he.
It's just the Dewley farm Cottages that made me prick up my ears as that has been mentioned many times by my Dad.
The NRO or whatever it's called said they would post it early June so will wait and see when it arrives.
Will keep you posted
Have only been to Sydney a few times in 26 years too busy for me. Toowoomba I loved but is it still in the throws of severe drought ????
Stay in touch
kind regards
Joann in Mooroopna Victoria

Oh Michael I do feel silly tho' as I recall for some wierd reason your details and tree disappeared off "my trees" list. This has happened to me before too.
Last time we were in contact I believe I was waitng for the marriage cert of Henrietta and George to arrive which it did confirming they were married 25th March 1901 if my memory serves me correctly. It is in Australia with all my genealogy info. - I am actually in Eng til Oct 6th as my dear old Dad passed away June 22nd and I'd to come over to sort out his affairs which has taken longer than we expected we were actually originally flying out today We haven't got much done but I did have a trip to Dewley Farm and it's two cottages where they lived.Rather run down but would be great to renovate and great to see. I am dying for the next census to be available to see what happened next.George's son George married and his daughter said I'd to ring her for her part of the family tree I was going to do that the beginning of this week but as they are getting elderly and live in Morpeth thought I'd better wait til they get dried out .
Do keep in touch
Cheers
Joann in Carlisle for the next three weeks
ps Can send you some pics of Dewley Farm if you'd be interested ??

In 1881 she is living with her mother Mary McKay nee Harrison nee Collinson and stepfather Robert McKay. She does not appear in the 1891 Census under her maiden name and though there are less than 5 Jane born Stranton 1860 +/- 1 year, there's nothing conclusive.
