I have an Edward Greenwell (b1834, d1912), coalminer, in my tree. Son of Joseph Greenwell (b c1796) and Hannah Richardson (b c1799). Married Isabella Collinson; children Jane (b1859), Margaret Hannah (b1860), Anne (b1863) and Josephine (b1873).

Thanks, lots of good info in your note and your tree is pretty damned comprehensive.
I'm new to this game having been prompted into doing a bit of research when I came across a skeletal family tree in my late father's papers about a month ago. This tree was apparently put together by a descendant of Isabella and Edward through their daughter Margaret Hannah and James Spence (my great grand parents) and their son John Joseph to the Smith and Scott families. Robert Ridley Smith & Gladys Spence (my father's cousin) lived in or near Whalton, Northumberland but I lost touch with them in the '70s, I don't recall meeting any of the Scott family since I was a child in the '50s.
Looks like Edward did what my father did and married the girl next door, or at least his widowed mother-in-law moved next door some time before the 1901 census.
