Hi edith Maud's parents were William and Mary Ann and she had a sister Margaret E born in 1881 ish. Mary Ann must have died in childbirth as she was dead in 1881.Edith Maud married my great uncle in 1896 and had a daughter Edith Maud in 1900 and it would appear her mam died 1n 1901. Must be same family

Was she by any chance Edith Maud who married William Henry Smith of Portsmouth in Sunderland in 1896?
Smith is massively difficult of course but this William Henry is a good fit for my wife's great-uncle born Portsmouth 1874 who is not with his family in 1891. However, I have just seen a William Smith apprentice (blacksmith, like William Henry in 1901/1911), son, age 16 in Sunderland in 1891 with Robert and Sarah Lourie and Sarah would not fit as his mother so I am now a bit doubtful. Worth a try though.
(My William Henry's father, George, drowned in a sea tragedy off South Shields in 1892.)
