They had 9 children,one of whom was my grandfather,Joseph Keegan

Thanks for the reply and all the info, it is the Hutchinson side that I am looking at for connections to my ggrandparents family and I see Thomas and Elizabeth being married in the March quarter as well as another Elizabeth Ann in the same quarter.
Going by the name of their first child it looks as tho your Elizabeth is the daughter of Dixon Hutchinson b1833 Sunderland and Jane Tulloch b1834 Scotland who are living in 13 Mulgrave Street Monkwearmouth on the 1881 census but I have found no connection yet to this line of the Hutchinsons and all my line are from Monkwearmouth as well ,a Thomas Hutchinson b1822 and Mary Davison b1831

It was Joseph who travelled to Australia. He came out before my great grandfather & lived in Bundaberg . He married & had children but unfortunately they died leaving no descendants. I will eventually get this added to my tree.
George took up land in Childers & became a canefarmer. He called the property "Fieldhead" which apparently has some connection to Newbiggin. I don't know if it was a township or the actual property his parents owned over there.
