Married Mary Bussey on 10 Dec 1836 in Middleton In Teesdale. Mary was born about 1816. She was buried on 20 Mar 1893 in Shildon [, Co. Durham, UK].

Lived at Beverley just outside Middleton [in Teesdale] where he worked in the lead mines. THey later moved away to work in the coal mines in other parts of County Durham.

Collinson, George W., 22 Nov 1909, aged 14, Driver, No one witnessed this accident, but it is supposed that he had dropped his whip and that in leaning over to reach it he had overbalanced himself and had fallen off the limbers. His head may in this way have been squeezed between a corner of the tub and a prop at the side of the road, and then his body pushed out of the way by the slowly moving tub.
