The other Collinson in Alnwick 1901 is Thomas Collinson, 80, born Derbyshire Wirksworth, Retired Teacher School. He does not appear to be a relative as he is from Derbyshire. It is interesting to note however that his ancestors are also lead miners, perhaps they settled in Derbyshire from Weardale/Teesdale in the early 1600s or earlier?? Or the other way around??

A check in the 1881 Census shows him already living Alnwick, Schoolmaster, widowed, born Warkworth [sic], Derby, England. He has a son born in Alnwick so has been there a while: Frederick W. ; COLLINSON; Son; U; Male ; 27; Alnwick, Northumberland, England; Student Of Medicine.

No other Collinson born Wirksworth in 1901 Census and none in Wirkworth/Warwoth in 1881 Census. However there is a transcribed Collinson pedigree for Wirksworth, Derby which ends with a Thomas Collinson. There is no DOB but his next oldest sibling is born 1820 so almost certainly this Thomas.

     My great grand-aunt - MJC

She is clearly traceable to 1891 but the trail is tenuous after that.

Elizabeth was born c1879, probably April 1868 - Mar 1869, in Newcastle and in 1881 and 1891 was living with her father in Kenton just north of Newcastle, Northumberland.

In 1901 she was probably still single and a servant in Elswick, now a Newcastle suburb.

Joe Collinson says she married William Dixon Wright (died 1940) and lists children but no dates or places. If correct, they most likely married in 1901 in Newcastle but I cannot find them in the 1911 England Census. He lists a daughter's death in Manitoba, so perhaps the whole family emigrated to Canada some time 1904 - 1911 - the birth of a Joseph Collinson Wright in Newcastle 1904 suggesting there were still there then.

Individual Note:
Margaret Ann Collinson was born Oct - Dec 1875 and registered in Newcastle district. She shows up in the 1881 and 1891 Census living with her parent in Kenton, Northumberland. There is a marriage of a Margaret Ann Collinson in Newcastle in Oct-Dec 1899. As usual there are two possible spouses but 1901 Census strongly suggests from age / POB match that she is Margaret Humphrey, having married Joseph Robert Humphrey. The only discrepancy is that her 1901 POB is Gosforth (the parish that includes Kenton) not Newcastle - but looking at husband's earlier census POB, it looks as though the two got switched.

The 1901 Census for Coxlodge also shows a 9-months infant, Thomas Humphrey and the 1911 Census the same Thomas Clements Humphrey plus Helena and Ida.
