His birth with his wife Ann is the first to be listed in the Stutchbury family bible printed in 1610. This bible is currently (2003) in the hands of Rosemary Christine Collinson nee Cummings, daughter of Florence Edith Stutchbury who is a great grandaughter of James. Hi,
I am trying to track down Stutchbury family members who were lightermen on the Thames. On my husband's family there are confirmed details back to Samuel (married to Eliza Pugh) and on their marriage cert -24.01.1841 - father is James, a lighterman. The only James matching that I found on the census was married to Ann Rawlinson but am not sure this is sufficient evidence of the correct family.
Is this the James on your tree or do you have any information that might help my search?

My research has moved on and I know he was NOT Samuel Rawlinson Stutchbury who died aged 7 - see record below:

"My" Samuel was the son of James Stutchbury c1786 - 1848 and Susannah c1786-1825. After Sussanah's death James married Esther Stephens.
Hope my previous information didn't mislead you too much but I am afraid the the "Tipper" information is in the wrong place on your tree as there is no direct line back to Ann Rawlinson.
